WE'VE GOT ANSWERS! // This is here to help you answer some pretty big questions about the ATL program and how we operate. Of course, if you have a question that isn't already up here, or you'd like someone to explain something further...give us a shout!

MEMBERSHIP/SCHEDULE ______________________________

What is club lacrosse?

Club lacrosse is meant to provide girls with more learning + playing opportunities outside of their MS + HS school seasons.

Is the ATL right for you?

If you live in Atlanta (or surrounding areas), love playing lacrosse, learning from FANTASTIC role models, laughing with your peers and want to take your game to another level, then the ATL is for you!

What determines the membership year?

The membership year is determined by your HS grad year and it lasts from August-August. So, if you are a rising Junior in HS right now, you are a 2012. If you are a rising Sophomore, you are a 2013. And, so on ...

Why are there 3 seperate seasons within 1 membership year?

Based on member feedback, we have broken down the year into 3 compact seasons. This makes it easier for scheduling, focus and making payments!

So, can I pay for the entire membership year in full?

Why bother? We have developed this system to help you! We want committed members who are going to attend MOST/ALL of the events/practices that are outlined in the seasonal schedule. Take it season by season!

ATTENDANCE/TRYOUTS______________________________

How important is attending everything?

VERY IMPORTANT! Before registering for the next season you MUST know that you are going to be able to attend MOST/ALL of the practices/events. We have to be able to field full teams in order to provide quality opportunities for everyone! Your teammates will be counting on you - and you on them!

Do I have to tryout for the ATL?

Yes! While we will not be making cuts, we will be holding tryouts at the beginning of each season. After this tryout you will be placed on a team for the remainder of THAT season. When you are placed on a team, we take the committment seriously ... so do your teammates.

Do I have to tryout every season?

No, you do not have to tryout each season. Only one time each membership year. However, teams will be determined at the beginning of each season, so your team could change. If the talent pool changes, you will be considered as a part of that growing pool.

Could I get cut?

When we say tryouts, we really mean TEAM PLACEMENT for the season. However, once the teams are full, we will have to make cuts based on performance. This is why committment is KEY.

If I get cut, can I re-tryout next season?

ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY! We encourage you to do that!!

COMMUNICATION/EXPECTATION______________________________

How do you communicate with the members?

The ATL website is always up-to-date with information - ANY time of the day! We also use email a lot to send you event/practice announcements and information.

Can I get kicked out of the ATL?

YES. Like we said, ATTENDANCE is key! If you don't attend MOST/ALL of the events/practices during one season, we assume you won't the next season. It's about buidling trust and being reliable!

How big are the teams?

Teams will have between 18-22 girls. Once again, ATTENDANCE is everything! We form these teams anticipating that we may have injuries or attendance issues.

What is expected out of me?

We expect that BEFORE you register you look at the schedule! Once you are a member we expect that you show up, attend the events we plan and HAVE FUN!! of course, we always expect that you be honest with us - good or bad!

Are there playing opportunities outside of these seasons?

YES! Sometimes we will offer our ATL members the opportunity to attend tournaments/camps with BOUNCE/XTEAM that occur outside of the local GA region. These events (and any events NOT listed on schedule) will be an additional cost.

BOUNCE/XTEAM______________________________

What is BOUNCE?

BOUNCE is the umbrella company that owns and operates the ATL. BOUNCE also owns 2 other club lacrosse teams in CA + CT. The BOUNCE main office is located in Brooklyn, NY. Fugghedabboudit.

What is XTEAM?

XTEAM is a national club lacrosse team for girls who are serious about pursuing lacrosse at the collegiate level.

Why are there so many girls from GA on XTEAM?

XTEAM focuses on providing girls from "non-traditional" areas with the same opportunities of being recruited to play lacrosse in college as girls from the traditional lax areas. We have a BIG group of VERY dedicated XTEAMers from the local GA region. Local XTEAMers are also expected to attend local practices and playdays with the ATL.
